The Magistrate’s Court dealt with two cases involving prostitution offences earlier this week.
Local woman Nurul Nadiatul Suzana binti Mohd Aizuddin, 37, pleaded guilty to offering sexual services to a man for BND100.
The defendant was fined BND1,000, or serve a month’s jail in default of payment.
A public tip-off prompted the Anti-Vice and Gambling Suppression Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department at the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) to raid a room of a homestay and hostel in Kampong Beribi on January 10, and found the defendant with a man and evidence of prostitution.
The defendant admitted that she had been doing it since 2016.
Meanwhile, the police also found 48-year-old Indonesian woman Aryati Moh Badri offering sexual services to 48-year-old Indonesian man Mustofa when the enforcement personnel raided another room in the premises.
The woman pleaded guilty to offering her services for BND25 while the man pleaded guilty to seeking her services.
Investigations revealed that Mustofa was a regular customer of Aryati and had sought her services three times before this.
The defendants were each ordered to settle a BND1,000 fine, or serve a month’s jail in default of payment.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Adli bin Mohd Zaidi prosecuted the cases, which were heard by Senior Magistrate Pengiran Hazirah binti Pengiran Haji Mohd Yusof.
