The Dikir with Converts program in conjunction with the birth anniversary celebration of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) continued last Wednesday evening at the Persatuan Sinar Islam (PSI) building in the Belait District, attended by about 60 people made up of PSI members and residents from the surrounding area.
Joining the ceremony was a delegate from the Islamic Dakwah Centre (PDI) led by Senior Religious Officer at PDI, Awang Roslan bin Haji Sulaiman.
Organised by the Converts Development Section, PDI, Ministry of Religious Affairs, the ceremony began with recital of Surah Al-Fatihah and then proceeded with a religious talk on Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) morals in life, delivered by Religious Development Assistant Officer at the Belait Dakwah Unit Dayang Siti Ramziah binti Haji Mohamad Ramli.
Among the essence of the talk was that the Prophet is the main role model in every aspect of a Muslim’s life and his morals and behavior not only provide spiritual guidance, but can also be relevant practical examples to be applied in everyday life.
The ceremony was further enlivened with Dikir Syarafil Anam and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
The Dikir ceremony with converts program in the rural area is held to encourage the converts to get involved in religious activities or ceremonies and to raise the major Islamic events, such as the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) that falls every 12 Rabiulawal in the Hijrah calendar. – LYNA MOHAMMAD
