As a resident of Jalan Muara, I constantly see labourers dig up mud from the drains along the road, especially during the rainy season. While our area is not particularly flood-prone, there are instances when the roads are submerged due to overflowing of the drains.
While removing mud seems to offer a short-term solution to our lack of a proper drainage system, perhaps the authorities ought to consider building one before the relatively mild flooding becomes a pressing issue in the foreseeable future.
