The Co-curriculum Department at Sayyidina Ali Secondary School (SMSA) hosted an SMSA Run 2022 to promote physical and mental health, while also strengthening the relationship among the school and students, parents and guardians.
Starting at the school’s main gate, the event saw 128 students, 15 teachers and four parents participating in the run, which comprised three categories – Category B (lower secondary), Category C (upper secondary), staff, and open category (teachers, members of staff and Parents Teachers Association).
The male participants ran 5.5 kilometres while female participants ran 4.2 kilometres.
The school hopes that the run will also provide opportunities to participants to display sportsmanship and promote physical and mental health as well as a healthy lifestyle.
In addition, the event represented an opportunity for the school to foster team spirit and cooperation among students and teachers, and identify talent for potential athletes for competitions at national and international levels.
