Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Masna Secondary School’s Scouts team representative Nurul Azimah Zafirah binti Ibrahim emerged victor in the royal birthday quiz for uniformed and voluntary teams from educational institutions.
Meanwhile, Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) cadet representative Mohd Qarl Darwisy Haquize bin Wadi ranked in second, followed by Mohd Nabil Rafiuddin bin Morshidi from Sultan Sharif Ali Secondary School.
Acting Assistant Director of the Department of Co-Curriculum Education at the Ministry of Education (MoE) cum guest of honour Haji Eady Sardi bin Pehin Datu Derma Sakti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Razak awarded prizes to the winners during a prize presentation ceremony at the Department of Co-Curriculum Education in Berakas.
Ninety students participated in the quiz, with the top 10 awarded vouchers for school supplies.
The quiz competition aimed to enliven His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 76th birthday celebration, familarise students’ with the history of the monarch’s birthday, and to improve their digital skills as the nation gears towards the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
The quiz was open to all members of the uniformed personnel – namely, Royal Brunei Armed Forces army cadets, RBPF cadets, Fire and Rescue Department cadets, Scouts, Brunei Red Crescent Society cadets, and volunteer teams at educational institutions.
The ceremony was organised by the MoE through the Uniform and Community Service Unit at the Department of Co-Curriculum Education.
