His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel presented Kurnia Peribadi or personal gift of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to 950 recipients at the Belalong Community Hall in Pekan Bangar, Temburong yesterday.
Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was greeted by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad and Temburong District Officer Pengiran Mohammad Ameer Mubaarak bin Pengiran Haji Hashim.
Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat were recited by Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Mohd Yusof.
Recipients came as early as 7am for the event.
A police personnel residing in RPN Kampong Rataie Ejos bin Aji said his son Erfan Edryyan come under the category of Special Education Unit recipient and needs attention as he is hyperactive. This was the second time his son received the personal gift.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim from RPN Kampong Rataie expressed his gratitude as it was the first time his son Md Nor Armi received such Kurnia. Under the category of underprivileged recipient of Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) receiving BND130 per month, Ibrahim, a private security agency personnel, said the assistance helps in lessening the burden especially during Hari Raya.
Army personnel Md Rauf bin Ramli, whose autistic son Md Riffat Ridhwan received the personal gift, said it was the second time his son received the Kurnia.
“I am grateful to receive the Kurnia which shows His Majesty’s concern for the people,” he said.
