His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik, Chairman of the Committee of Governors of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, attended a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at the An-Naura Hall of the Yayasan Complex in the capital.
On arrival, His Royal Highness was greeted by Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman as member of Yayasan Committee of Governors; Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar as Acting Chairman of the Yayasan Board of Directors; and Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin as member of Yayasan Board of Directors.
Also welcoming the royal arrival was Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the Ministry of Development Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak as Acting Managing Director of Yayasan.
The event began with the recitation of Takhtim by 30 Yayasan officers and staff led by Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Secondary School teacher Dr Haji Samsul Muawan bin Haji Shodiq.
It proceeded with the recitation of Doa Khatam and Doa Selamat by Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Mustapa bin Haji Murad, followed by breaking of the fast and a mass Maghrib prayer.
Yayasan Board of Directors, Board of Trustees for Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans, Yayasan officers and staff as well as teachers of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah School were also present. – Lyna Mohamad
