The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and its departments, yesterday afternoon held a Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil recitation ceremony for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman as well as Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof and Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah led the delegation from the PMO and its departments.
The recitation of Surah Yaasiin was by Deputy State Mufti Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Japar bin Haji Mat Dain @ Maidin, followed by the mass recitation of Tahlil led by Assistant Mufti (Buhuth) Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mazanan bin Haji Yusof. Meanwhile, Doa Tahlil and Doa Peliharakan Sultan were read by Chief Syar’ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.
Deputy ministers, permanent secretary, deputy permanent secretaries, guests as well as officers and personnel at the PMO and its departments were present.
The ceremony at the Royal Mausoleum in Bandar Seri Begawan, is one of the annual religious events of the PMO and its departments, organised by the Media-Info Office and the International Office, in collaboration with the Adat Istiadat Department and the Anti-Corruption Bureau as joint organisers for this year’s event.
