The Prime Minister’s Office held an Ilal Hijrah 1445 celebration yesterday at the Banquet Hall of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Building.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof was the guest of honour.
Co-organised by the Department of Energy at the PMO, Department of Electrical Services and Information Department, the event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Mosque Affairs Officer at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Pengiran Haji Mohd Hafizuddin bin Pengiran Haji Bakar.
The event saw the recitation of Al-Quran verses by National Al-Quran Reading Competition for Youth for 1444 Hijrah champion Abdul Qawiyyel Azeez bin Haji Abdul Rajid.
The event was enlivened by a religious talk, ‘Peristiwa Hijrah, Bermulanya Lembaran Kegemilangan Islam’ delivered by Mosque Affairs Officer at Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Pengiran Ahmad Faris Ramadhani bin Pengiran Haji Sellahuddin, followed by the recitation of Doa Selamat.
The Ilal Hijrah 1445 celebration is an annual activity of the PMO to glorify major Islamic events and strengthen camaraderie and friendship among officers and staff. – Azlan Othman
