Local traditional dances and song were showcased in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports’ (MCYS) ‘Kejalanan Kebudayaan’ programme and Hari Raya celebration at the Joyful Garden in Kampong Subok on Saturday.
Acting Director of Culture and Arts at the MCYS Haji Mohd Abdoh bin Haji Damit, in his speech, said, “The programme aimed to raise awareness on our culture and arts.”
Members of the diplomatic community including Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Xiao Jianguo, Bangladeshi High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Nahida Rahman Shumona and Counsellor of the Embassy of China in Brunei Darussalam Wang Haitao were among those present.
The performances included Jipin Laila Sembah, Mengelang Hari Raya, Song Sarat, Selamat Hari Raya and Joget Hati Tertawan dances, while songs were performed by Hasberina and Awangku Sahminan. – James Kon
