Pretzel franchise in Malaysia closed after worker found kissing dough

ANN/THE STAR – Auntie Anne’s Malaysia announced that its Mid Valley outlet will be temporarily closed for comprehensive disinfection and cleaning.

This decision follows the circulation of a viral social media post showing an employee kissing a pretzel dough.

The company also stated that the staff member, who was previously employed at the Kuala Lumpur location, has been immediately terminated as a result of the incident.

“At Auntie Anne’s Malaysia, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of hygiene and safety for our customers and staff. We do not condone or tolerate any actions that compromise these standards,” it said in a Facebook post recently.

“As part of our proactive measures, the outlet in question will be temporarily closed for thorough disinfection and cleaning,” it added.

The outlet, it said, would reopen once the disinfection process is completed and all necessary safety protocols have been confirmed.
