Prestigious award for BILIF in Dubai

Brunei Institute of Leadership and Islamic Finance (BILIF) was awarded the Global Good Governance (3G) Human Resource Development Award 2022 during the 7th annual 3G awards ceremony at Conrad Hotel, Dubai on May 18.

The award ceremony, organised by Cambridge International Financial Advisory (IFA) and Hawkamah, Middle East and North Africa (MENA), celebrates good governance, transparency and social responsibility as well as recognising leadership efforts of individuals, governments, corporations and non-governmental organisations that practice good governance principles and are innovative towards improving the said areas.

The public, corporate, and social sectors as well as philanthropists from around the globe participated in the ceremony.

Receiving the award on behalf of BILIF was its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Hajah Sufinah binti Haji Sahat. She expressed gratitude for receiving the award which acknowledges BILIF’s growing contribution towards human capital development to create a world of industry-leading professionals, particularly in the area of Islamic finance. She expressed appreciation to Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) for its leadership and support.

The 3G Summit 2022 was also held during the event, serving as a global platform for dialogue, deliberation, and engagement towards a greater understanding of key issues in governance, ethics and sustainability.

During the 3G Summit, Hajah Sufinah was invited as a panellist in the ‘Governance, Sustainable Development & Empowerment’ discussion.

Joining her as fellow panellists were Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) Managing Director and CEO Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) Director Dr Raheel Qamar and Securities and Exchange Commission Philippines Chairman Emilio Benito Aquino. It was moderated by governance and operational risk management specialist Faseeh Elahi.

Established in 2010, BILIF, formerly known as Centre for Islamic Banking, Finance and Management (CIBFM) provides high-quality learning solutions. BILIF organises signature and collaborative events for human capacity development in the areas of Islamic finance and leadership.
