The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), through the Haj Management Department, yesterday organised a programme dubbed ‘Ke Arah Warga Perkhidmatan Awam Yang Arif Tentang Rukun Islam Kelima’ to public service personnel on haj affairs management and facilities that have been facilitated by the government to prepare them for pilgrimage.

The programme was held at the ministry’s Multaqa Hall in Jalan Dewan Majlis.

With knowledge on facilities being provided by the government, it was hoped to encourage public service personnel to hasten its achievement of one of the five pillars of Islam, which is obligatory for all Muslims who can afford to do so. Some 131 participants joined the programme comprising public service officers and staff that have yet to perform haj.

The one-day programme was split into two sessions, with the first being an introduction to the Haj Management Department and the obligation to perform haj by Acting Haj Management Department Assistant Director Hajah Zunainah binti Haji Gunong, and the second session on haj management and facilities provided by the government, by Haj Management Department Religious Education Officer Haji Mohd Hisham bin Haji Maidin.

The programme included a video presentation titled ‘Perjalanan Jemaah Haji Negara Brunei Darussalam bagi tahun 1443 Hijrah / 2022 Masihi’.
