PEKIRA Association marked its silver jubilee anniversary with a PEKIRA Day at Mangrove Paradise Resort in Jalan Kota Batu on Saturday.
Pehin Orang Kaya Dewa Pahlawan Dato Paduka Awang Haji Dani bin Haji Ibrahim was the guest of honour.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, Doa Selamat and Selawat Tafrijiyyah led by Haji Ali Hassan bin Haji Ahmad. It proceeded with speeches from PEKIRA Chairman Haji Muhammad bin Haji Muhammad Yassin, PEKIRA President Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Kasim bin Haji Lamat and Pehin Orang Kaya Dewa Pahlawan Dato Paduka Awang Haji Dani. The ceremony also saw the presentation of PEKIRA Day awards – the Tokoh PEKIRA award, which went to Haji Hambali bin Tengah, and Ahli Berjasa PEKIRA.
The Tokoh PEKIRA received BND1,000, along with a jubilee plaque and a roll of kain songket.
To bless the ceremony, a Doa Selamat was read which marked the end of the ceremony.
