Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (Perbadanan TAIB) held a Sunnat Hajat prayers and Doa Kesyukuran ceremony in conjunction with the 31st anniversary of its establishment, at Setia Ali Mosque in Pekan Muara.
Minister of Religious Affairs and Advisor to Perbadanan TAIB’s Board of Directors Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman was the guest of honour.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof in his capacity as the Chairman of Perbadanan TAIB’s Board of Directors also attended. The ceremony began with a mass Maghrib prayer, followed by mass Sunnat Hajat prayers, and the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Doa Kesyukuran led by Imam of Setia Ali Mosque Nosehin bin Haji Yahya.
The ceremony concluded with the Dikir Marhaban, prior to the mass Isyak prayer.
The anniversary event is celebrated annually to commemorate Perbadanan TAIB’s official launching on September 29, 1991 by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
At the time of its launch, Perbadanan TAIB was a pioneer amongst financial institutions in the Sultanate for being the first to offer financial products and services in accordance with Islam.
Also present were Acting Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II and Acting Advisor of Perbadanan TAIB’s Board of Directors Dato Seri Paduka Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid; Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Deputy Chairman of Perbadanan TAIB Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan; members of the Syariah Advisory Committee, managing directors of Perbadanan TAIB and its subsidiaries; Acting Village Head of Kampong Masjid Lama, Pekan Muara, Kampong Sabun and Kampong Pelumpong; and officers and staff of Perbadanan TAIB and its subsidiaries.
