Where I live in Kampong Sungai Tilong, power outages are very common, so much so that some of my neighbours have put the Darussalam Line 123 on speed dial.
I must applaud the authorities for responding to our reports very swiftly, with the last taking less than five hours to sort out.
However, with two elderly in my household, the stress caused by these power outages is immense.
Despite the frequency of repair works in the area, it hasn’t improved the situation one bit. I wonder if the vines that are creeping up the utility poles have been the real reason behind these power outages.
If so, perhaps the authorities ought to look into removing these vines on a mass scale to keep power outages at bay.
