Warisan Utama Jaya Emporium and Supermarket launched the 2024 Taichung City Premium Ponkan Agricultural Product Fair yesterday.
The fair features fresh produce including ponkan from Taiwan.
Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Brunei Vanessa Hsih Yea-Ping, representative from the Agriculture Bureau of Taichung City Lin Chun Liang and Managing Director of First Group Lim Kian Seng officiated the launch.
“We had been importing various confectionery snacks and dry goods from Taiwan yearly for the past 20 years. The ponkan from Taichung City Fengyuan District Farmers Association is one of our highlights for this fair and they make great gifts for friends and family during the Lunar New Year festival,” said Lim.
“We had no choice but to temporarily halt the product launching event in the past three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are grateful to be able to host this event today as the international exchanges are back to normal,” he added. – James Kon
