James Kon

A 38-year-old local man was detained by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) for allegedly possessing drug paraphernalia following a car chase at Pekan Bangar on Saturday.

According to the RBPF, police personnel gave chase after the driver did not comply with police instruction to stop the vehicle for inspection.

The chase came to halt when law enforcers stopped the vehicle at Jalan Kampong Sibulu in Temburong District.

RBPF personnel found that the vehicle did not have any insurance or road tax.

Items believed to be drug paraphernalia were also found.

The suspect has been handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau for further investigation.
