Police bust prostitution

James Kon

Two foreign women, aged 31 and 32, allegedly involved in prostitution were detained by police personnel from the Anti-Vice and Gambling Suppression Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) under Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) on Monday night.

They were detained during raids at two hotels. The first woman was detained in Jalan Batu Satu while the second in Jalan Batu Bersurat.

Searches in both rooms found evidence including cash, mobile phone, lubricant and condoms believed to be used for immoral activities.

The suspects and evidence were brought back to the CID.

The cases are being investigated under Section 294A, Chapter 22 of Penal Code for the offence of offering sexual services.

The RBPF reminded owners of rental houses and accommodation to ensure their tenants are not involved in immoral activities.

Those with information on illegal activities can call 993 or head to police stations or use contact form at www.polis.gov.bn.
