The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) yesterday held an Israk Mikraj celebration for 1443 Hijrah, which took place at the Banquet Hall of the PMO Building.
Present as the guest of honour was Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud.
Also in attendance at the celebration were special guests, permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries and heads of departments, as well as officers and staff of the PMO and its departments.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and verses of the Al-Quran by Lance Corporal Ahmad Raihan bin Begawan Mudim Haji Metassim.
At the celebration, a lecture entitled Sembahyangku Kerana Allah (My Prayers Are for Allah) was delivered by a guest speaker from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Captain Mohammad Ayza Azrine bin Ayahani.
His lecture highlighted the importance of knowing the purpose behind the provision of prayer or Solat. The speaker also shared the procedure or means to achieve Khusyuk (concentration) in prayer as to achieve the purpose of the prayer or Solat.
The ceremony concluded with a Doa Selamat to seek blessings and protection from Allah the Almighty. The Israk Mikraj celebration is one of several religious activities held annually by the PMO. This year it was jointly organised by Wawasan Vision, Finance and Cabinet Division, PMO and Internal Security Department.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) and the departments under it yesterday held a virtual Israk Mikraj celebration for 1443 Hijrah.
Present as the guest of honour was Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Fiscal), Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman. Also present were Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy), permanent secretaries, head of departments and sections along with senior officials and staff of the ministry.
The ceremony commenced with recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by a lecture entitled Memperingati Israk dan Mikraj pada zaman ini iaitu COVID-19 delivered by Assistant Counsellor of the Prisons Department Ustaz Fariszal bin Ali. The ceremony this year was coordinated by Registrar of Companies and Business Names Division and Legal Unit as part of the annual religious activities conducted by the ministry.
Apart from commemorating the journey of Israk Mikraj, the celebration also aimed to foster closer ties between officers and staff of the ministry and the departments under it.
