The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and its departments held a religious celebration marking the Israk Mikraj 1446/2025 on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of PMO Building. The event was attended by Minister at the PMO and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof as the guest of honour.
Also present were Deputy ministers at the PMO, Supreme Court Judicial Commissioner, Syariah High Court Judges, Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, special guests, Head of Departments as well as Officers and staff of PMO and its departments
The ceremony began with recital of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Awang Haji Mohd Izzat Izzuddin bin Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Emran, Mosque Affairs Officer, Ash Shaliheen Mosque.
This followed with recital of Surah Al-Isra’ verses 9-15 by Lance Corporal (LCPL) 5849 Ahmad Raihaan bin Begawan Mudim Haji Matassim, Neighbourhood Watch member, Bandar Central Police Station, Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF).
A mass Selawat Tafrijiyyah and Selawat Ibrahimiyah then followed suit led by Nasyid Group, Islamic Religious Section, RBPF, and then proceeded with a special talk entitled ‘Sembahyang Mencerdaskan Minda’ by Ustaz Awang Muhammad Yussof bin Hj Abd Majid, Special Duties Officer Grade II, Religious Counseling and Understanding Unit, Ministry of Religious Affairs.
This year’s celebration was chaired by the Law and Security Section, PMO and Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB) as the ceremony’s organiser. – Lyna Mohammad
