The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) held an Israk Mikraj celebration at Ash-Shaliheen Mosque yesterday.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof was the guest of honour.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Mosque Affairs Officer Haji Mohammad Izzat Izzuddin bin Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Emran.
Dean of Student Affairs Section at Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Dr Haji Mohammad Shahrol Azmi bin Haji Abdul Muluk delivered a talk on ‘Sembahyang Tiang Ugama’, which highlighted the privilege of prayer as a link of human beings to Allah the Almighty, and prayer is the first practice that will be counted on the Day of Judgment.
The ceremony continued with the recitation of mass Selawat Tafrijiyyah headed by the mosque affairs officer.
The ceremony is jointly organized by Wawasan Brunei office, Permenant Secretariat for Manpower Planning and Employment Council, Brunei Climate Change Secretariat and Information Department.
Deputy ministers at the PMO, special guests and heads of departments also attended. – James Kon
