The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) held a Tedarus Al-Quran ceremony in conjunction with Ramadhan, concluded with a closing ceremony at Ash-Shaliheen Mosque on Saturday.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof and Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah were the guests of honour.
The ceremony began with Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi presenting two sets of microphones as waqaf for the mosque to Mosque Affairs Officer Haji Mohammad Izzat Izzuddin bin Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Emran. This was followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Tedarus Al-Quran led by the guests of honour, Tahlil and Doa Selamat, before concluding with iftar and mass Maghrib prayer.
The annual event aims to strengthen ties among PMO officers and staff, mosque congregant and the local community, while enriching spiritual devotion during the holy month of Ramadhan.
Deputy ministers, permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries, senior officers and staff at the PMO and its departments were present. – Lyna Mohamad
