Over 40 students and youth from schools and institutes across the Belait District began their three-day youth camp at the surrounding premises of the main headquarters of the Belait District Youth and Sports Department along Jalan Maulana yesterday.

The participants from Chung Hua Middle School Kuala Belait, Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar Secondary School and the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Jefri Bolkiah Campus (JBC) joined games, activities and workshops.

The camp started with a warm-up and ice-breaking session, followed by the youth setting up their camp at a nearby forest clearing where they will stay for the next two nights and learn basic camping skills and knowledge from the Belait District Red Crescent Society members.

The camp will continue today, with a closing ceremony tomorrow. Organised by the Belait District Youth and Sports Department in collaboration with the Belait District Red Crescent Society, the camp aims to provide an opportunity for youth to learn new skills and knowledge during the school holidays. In addition, the camp also serves as a platform for youth to build teamwork and network with their peers in the district.
