Play your role for country’s well-being, public told

The Information Department through the Informed Community Programme (PMB) focusses on the role and responsibilities of the community to the monarch and the nation’s development, Acting Senior Information Officer Mohammad Rainie bin Haji Durani said.

He said this addressing mosque Muslimah in the Brunei-Muara District attending the PMB on Saturday. Mohammad Rainie said the programme also encourages dialogues, and visits to places to boost the spirit of participants and motivate as well as ignite ideas towards implementing entrepreneurial activities among others.

The briefing also saw a presentation on the ‘Roles and Responsibilities of the people of the Country’ by Head of Nationhood Unit, Strategic Communications Division Assistant Information officer Hajah Noorihijrah binti Haji Idris. The presentation touched on the roles and responsibilities of the citizens to the country and ruler, community and family contributing towards the country’s welfare.

The presentation on Halal Food in Islam Concept by the Syariah Affairs Department touched on the Halal Meat Act (Chapter 183) and the Halal Certificate and Halal Label Order 2005.

The briefing continued on Brunei Vision 2035 by Sekretariat Tetap Wawasan Brunei 2035 of the PMO where it was shared initiatives and latest developments implemented towards the nation’s vision in the field of education, human resources as well as health, infrastructure sectors and the public sector productivity.

The programme aims to increase knowledge and disseminate the latest development on the government’s efforts towards upgrading the living standards and boosting the spirit as well as inspiring the community.

Acting Deputy Director of Information, Hajah Hamsah binti Datu Kerna Haji Jaya was the guest of honour.

Officer from the Mosque Affairs Department, Noraini Yanti binti Haji Hussin and Senior Religious Officer Nadhirah binti Haji Lahit, a trained religious teacher at the Muslimah Affairs Division were also present.

The participants also visited the department’s Lentera Makmur Gallery, the Small Enterprise Food Incubator DEE, Department of Agriculture and Agrifood (DAA) in Kilanas and listened to a briefing by officers -from the DAA.
