A total of 73 tree saplings were planted at the Berakas Forest Reserve Recreational Park on Sunday morning during a tree-planting activity organised by the Thai Embassy in collaboration with the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) to commemorate Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary.
The Permanent Secretary at the MPRT, Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab, was the guest of honour at the event, welcomed by Thai Ambassador Boosara Kanchanalai.
The saplings planted included Baru-Baru, Ru Laut, and Penaga Laut varieties.
The event aimed to support the Sultanate’s Green Protocol initiative and promote a sustainable lifestyle, aligning with the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy (BNCCP) to pave the way for a more sustainable nation by reducing carbon emissions.
