Local club Perwira fell to a second successive defeat in the 2022 Asean Football Federation (AFF) Futsal Cup following a 8-4 loss to Down Town Sport at Terminal 21 in Korat, Thailand yesterday.
Brunei club representative took the lead in the 11th minute through Abdul Matin Norazlan but the Cambodian outfit replied through Ros Sichamroeun in the 18th minute. Down Town Sport went ahead after Keo Sochetra found the target a minute later but Perwira drew level through Abdul Malik Yunus.

The Cambodians regained the lead through Keo Nareth in the 27th minute before Sochetra grabbed his second of the game.
Sichamroeun completed his hat-trick in the 30th minute, but Abdul Matin’s goal five minutes later kept their slim hopes alive.
But Tong Chanmony ensured all three points belonged to the Cambodians after netting a quick-fire double in the 39th and 40th minute.
Perwira will conclude their group stage campaign against Indonesia’s Bintang Timur Surabaya today.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the knock-out stage and subsequently a shot to play in the title decider on September 10.
Thailand’s FreeFire Bluewave Chonburi were the defending champions.
