The Information Department of the Prime Minister’s Office, through the Temburong District branch held a Personal Contact programme for Kampong Labu Estate and Kampong Piasau-Piasau in Mukim Labu at the community hall of Kampong Labu Estate in the Temburong District yesterday.
Acting Director of Information Siti Bismi Nuruliman binti Haji Emzah headed the programme.
Topics covered included the impact of hot weather and heat waves in the Sultanate; mental health; MOHCares application; fight against drug abuse and trafficking; financial fraud through the Telegram app; and Welfare Line 141 and Child Line 121. The Personal Contact programme serves as a two-way dialogue between the government and people by providing information on government policies while receiving feedback.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir was also present as the Village Head of Kampong Labu Estate and Kampong Piasau-Piasau.
He said he welcomed the programme as a platform for villagers to voice their views and exchange ideas for the well-being and benefit of the residents.
The programme also saw a session with the villagers on issues raised, such as infrastructure and public facilities.
