Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (Perbadanan TAIB) achieved the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Certification Version 3.2.1 for Debit Card Issuing Services and Card Data Environment, the institution announced in a statement yesterday.
The PCI DSS certification is an industry-recognised standard designed to ensure the consistent implementation of robust data security measures, specifically focusing on the protection of cardholder data.
The certification underscores Perbadanan TAIB’s dedication in maintaining the highest standards of data security, ensuring customer confidentiality and safeguarding against potential threats such as data theft and Internet-based intrusions.
“At Perbadanan TAIB, we have always prioritised investments in data security and protection to ensure our customers’ data is safe,” Perbadanan TAIB Managing Director Datin Hajah Hasnah binti Haji Ibrahim said.
“Achieving PCI DSS compliance is a testament to our dedication in maintaining the highest industry data security standards. As part of our ongoing commitment, we will continue to ensure the stringent requirements are fully embedded into our systems and processes.”
Regional Head of Secure Logic Manju Devaraj presented the PCI DSS certificate to Datin Hajah Hasnah during a ceremony held at the NurTAIB Meeting Room, Perbadanan TAIB headquarters in Bandar Seri Begawan.
Secure Logic has also presented Perbadanan TAIB with the Compliance Champion Award for the Year 2022-2023. Perbadanan TAIB, as an issuer for MasterCard Debit cards, recently completed a thorough audit of its systems, policies, and procedures.
The process of certification required planning and commitment from Perbadanan TAIB and it achieved PCI DSS compliancy on December 15, 2023. By doing so, the institution became one of the few financial institutions to achieve PCI-DSS certification in the Sultanate.
Secure Logic Pte Ltd (Secure Logic) performed the assessment, certified as Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) company by PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC).
The attainment of PCI DSS compliance underscores Perbadanan TAIB’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of compliance to industry standards on data security.
