A stellar performance from Marcus Quirk helped Brunei Darussalam’s Pegasus to a significant first victory against Singapore Adroit in the Malaysia D-League 2022 group C match yesterday.
Quirk’s 21 points with 17 rebounds and two steals helped his team beat the Singapore outfit 70-65, bouncing back from their defeat against Speedhunters on Monday.
Quirk and Jeremy Chu started the first quarter with a combined 14 points to take a double digit lead against their opponents, ending it 24-11.
Pegasus continued to maintain their lead throughout the match, but Singapore Adroit began to cut the deficit to only five points with 33 seconds left on the clock.
In a nervy final seconds, Barry Tsung Lik King made an all-important steal to secure the win.
Pegasus will next play against Penang Sunrise Youngsters tomorrow.
