Paws and play!

It’s time to dive into a purr-fectly thrilling experience for all my fellow cat enthusiasts! In this review, we’re exploring two utterly charming cat-themed games that are bound to capture your heart and whisk you away on delightful adventures.

Whether you’re looking to unleash feline mayhem in a chaos-filled rampage or settle into a serene island life with adorable cats, these games offer a dose of fun that’s simply irresistible. Read on to discover how these whiskered wonders can add a splash of joy and a touch of mischief to your gaming escapades when it’s time for you to sit down and unwind. Prepare to indulge your inner cat lover in style!

If you’ve ever dreamt of a game where chaos reigns supreme, and adorable cats are at the helm of destruction, then Crashy Cats is your new obsession.

CAT-TASTROPHE IN EVERY TAP

Developed by Electric Turtle Limited – whose motto, ‘We make fun stuff’, couldn’t be more accurate – this game invites players into a world of feline frenzy where the only rule is to knock over as much as possible.

It’s the ultimate cat rampage runner game, and it sort of brings a nostalgic feel – like playing Flappy Bird, or other classics like Temple Run, Subway Surfers and the likes, but it’s more of cats leaping, bounding and soaring through a series of chaotic rooms, causing delightful destruction along the way in this 2-bit game.

Knock over priceless collectibles, pricey electronics, and even humans, as you navigate endless levels in this exhilarating romp. I’d say it’s the purr-fect way to indulge your inner troublemaker – and discord. The aim is to topple as many lamps, people, and assorted objects as possible. Each round presents players with specific objectives, such as demolishing five electronic devices and amassing 200 coins, which burst forth from shattered items. To navigate the chaos, players tap once to leap and twice to perform a higher jump, allowing them to clear gaps and dodge obstacles like dogs – failure to do so will end the round abruptly.

As players progress, they race through a variety of ever-changing locations, from bustling offices to quirky shops. Along the way, they can scoop up special power-ups, such as a speed boost, to enhance their destructive capabilities.

And, as a cherry on top, a running tally keeps track of the monetary value of their mayhem, turning every rampage into a competitive challenge.

The game was released in 2020, and thanks to the recent International Cat Day celebration, the Apple Store brought on all the cat-themed games available in the store for people to try out.

FUR-TASTIC FUN

In the spirit of more cat-themed games, I’m also in the midst of exploring The Secret of Cat Island to, of course, further fuel my cat obsession.

The adventure kicks off as Nana and Muna, two irresistibly cute cats, find themselves washed ashore on a mysterious island following a colossal tsunami.

With nothing but their whiskers to guide them, they awaken on an expansive landmass with no other islands in sight. What a cat-tastrophe indeed! With no signs of life or food, the island is full of unanswered questions. Will Nana and Muna manage to survive this shipwreck and turn Cat Island into their new home?

Well, they probably can if you’re actively playing it enough.

Developed by LikeItGames Co, Ltd and released sometime in 2022, it’s a pretty relaxed game and quite charming too. You’ve got a purr-sonalised paradise where you can create, customise and expand your own idyllic farm and town.

You can even deck out the cat family’s house with exclusive skins and chic décor and your own personal room which you can flaunt in the weekly My Room rankings (I’m still trying to figure out if it’s possible to do without purchasing real money involved).

There’s also a feline feast where you plant, grow and harvest crops and cook them into delectable dishes to gain more energy for Nana and Muna to explore the islands available.

The graphics remind me a little of the Hello Kitty Island Adventure game, but it’s somehow more soothing to the eyes and easier to navigate compared to Hello Kitty.

The game’s basically a cat-game version of any other farming and constructing game with quests to conquer, but more cutesy.

I think it’s a must-play for anyone who adores cats, enjoys managing a thriving farm and appreciates paw-some graphics with purr-fectly crafted characters. – Izah Azahari
