    Patriotism is in the air

In a spirited build-up to Brunei Darussalam’s 41st National Day celebrations, miniature table flags were distributed Thursday to participating teachers and students at a nationwide event led by the Ministry of Education (MoE). The main ceremony took place at Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School in Tutong and was officiated by Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh.

Organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports, the initiative is part of the ‘Semarak Pengibaran Bendera’ Programme, aimed at igniting patriotic spirit among students from primary, secondary, and higher education institutions.

Similar flag-distribution ceremonies were held across the country. In the Brunei-Muara District, the event took place at Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), graced by Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at MoE, Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad. Over in the Belait District, Chung Hua Middle School, Kuala Belait hosted the event, attended by Legislative Council Member YB Awang Haji Md Salleh bin Haji Othman. Meanwhile, Puni Primary School in Temburong saw the participation of Legislative Council Member YB Haji Awang Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir as the guest of honour.
