Patriotic hike to the peak

Muhd Azzulfa bin Jaini was part of a group that kicked off an expedition on February 22 from Kinabalu Park.

Consisting of climbers aged 12 to 60 hailing from various countries in ASEAN and Asia, they successfully summited Mount Kinabalu, Sabah in Malaysia, on Brunei Darussalam’s 40th National Day celebration, proudly waving the country’s flag.

He said, “To be the only Bruneian on the highest point on Borneo at 4,095.2 metres above sea level and to wish my country a happy 40th National Day, is an honour. Thank you to the Global Expedition Club and my mountain climbing team from all over Asia. I appreciate you all.” The expedition ended successfully with all climbers returning safely to Kota Kinabalu.
