Partnership expands educational horizons

Miftah An-Nur Islamic International School and the Yunus Emre Institute of Turkiye signed a memorandum of understanding at the Miftah An-Nur campus on Thursday.

The ceremony marked a step toward enhancing academic, cultural, and social cooperation between the two institutions.

Ambassador of Turkiye to Brunei Darussalam Professor Dr Hamit Ersoy was the guest of honour.

Miftah An-Nur Deputy Chairman Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Ibrahim and Turkish Cultural Centre Coordinator Lale Ersoy, representing the Yunus Emre Institute, signed the agreement.

The partnership allows students and the public access to a range of programmes, including calligraphy and Turkish language classes to deepen cultural connections and broaden learning horizons.

The programmes will be offered as extracurricular activities for Miftah An-Nur students, while the Miftah community and the public can participate in specialised sessions to expand academic, professional, and cultural perspectives. In addition to language and artistic education, both institutions are committed to exploring further collaborations across educational, cultural, and social initiatives, enhancing the cultural bridge between Brunei and Turkiye.

The ambassador highlighted the importance of cultural exchange, stating, “Our collaboration with Miftah An-Nur is an opportunity to strengthen the bond between our countries through education and cultural appreciation.”
