Parliamentarians discuss marine debris in Southeast Asian waters

The issue of marine debris in Southeast Asian waters was discussed during a meeting of regional parliamentarians with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the International Conservation Caucus Foundation.

The ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly held talks with the two organisations in Bogor, Indonesia on Thursday, discussing solutions to address marine debris in the region.

This included applying technology and innovation in tackling these challenges.

Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Suyoi bin Haji Osman, representing the Sultanate at the meeting, shared the nation’s own initiatives in tackling the issue. – Lyna Mohamad
