Parents held, two on the run in KL triple murder case

ANN/THE STAR – Malaysian law enforcement officers responding to a brawl, found the bodies of three foreign nationals who had been bound and killed.

The incident took place on Friday at a shophouse in Jalan Perhentian

Kampung Kovil Hilir, Kuala Lumpur’s Police Chief Commissioner Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid said.

Two suspects involved in the fight had fled before the police arrived. “Inspections at the second floor of the lot led to the discovery of three dead men, all tied up, in a store room,” he told a press conference at the Sentul police head-quarters yesterday.

One body was found naked. A Sri Lankan couple, who were also the parents of one of the killed men, were detained to assist in the investigations. “The victims are aged in their 20s and 30s. A post-mortem on all three bodies will be conducted.

“Our belief so far is that the two missing men are the main suspects in this case. We have yet to identify a motive behind the murders,” he said. A knife found at the scene was confiscated by the police. Forensics police found no obvious signs of a struggle at the scene.

Allaudeen added that the suspects were acquaintances of the parents, having been friends for about six months.

The other two murdered men were known to have been renting rooms in the shophouse.

Police were told that both suspects, also believed to be Sri Lankan, were at the shop having stayed over a night or two at the time, with the commissioner saying this could prove that the murders had been premeditated. “Efforts to trace down the two men are underway,” he said adding that the police have identified the two.
