Parents, educators key to students’ academic success

Close collaboration between parents and educators is essential for students’ success and underscores their vital role in shaping the future generation, said Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd’s leadership team, Finance Manager Hajah Melissa binti Haji Zainal during the Brunei LNG Academic Excellence Awards at Pusat Insani, Seria yesterday.
 
Nearly 500 students and teachers were recognised for their achievements, which covered the period between 2021 to 2024, and is part of the company’s social investment initiative. Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education Dr Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, the guest of honour for the morning session, presented 348 students with awards for excellent results for the Primary School Assessment (PSR), Religious Primary Schools Education Certificate (SSSRU), Brunei-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ Levels.
 
Meanwhile, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, the guest of honour for the afternoon session, presented top performing students from Year 1 to Year 5, as well as outstanding teachers and schools in the district with awards. – Daniel Lim
