A total of 299 male recruits of the 170th intake have successfully concluded their three-month basic military training following a passing out parade held yesterday at Parade Square of the Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces (TI RBAF) in Penanjong Garrison.
The 170th intake was the first batch to undergo 14 weeks of training instead of the usual training period of 24 weeks.
Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Saifulrizal bin Abdul Latif inspected the parade.
He delivered a speech and presented awards to the recruits and instructors who demonstrated outstanding performances in various categories throughout the training.
Among the male recruits, 55024 Recruit Muhammad Yazid bin Yakub was named the Overall Best Recruit, 55007 Recruit (U) Awangku Muhammad Ali Munawar bin Pengiran Abdul Rahman for Best in Military Skills, 54913 Recruit Mohammad Aiman Azizi bin Kamal for Best in Light Weapon Training and 54793 Recruit Muhammad Qasyiful Azhim Al-Zhahirin bin Haji Hassan for Best in Physical Training.
Meanwhile, Corporal Pengiran Assrol @ Pengiran Yussof bin Pengiran Matassan received the Best Section Commander Award, while 19903 Sergeant Mohammad Hafizzul Amirin bin Md Sharazmi was awarded Best Platoon Sergeant.
Deputy and acting deputy Services Commanders, the acting deputy joint force commander, senior officers, officers and personnel from the Ministry of Defence and RBAF as well as families of the recruits were also present at the event.
