Pandan ‘D’ gets new village head

Kampong Pandan ‘D’ residents cast their votes yesterday for Mohammad Farid bin Kasim as the new village head during the voting at Sayyidina Ali Secondary School’s multipurpose hall.

The voting commenced on May 17 through the PMKK e-Voting application.

Acting Belait District Officer Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad, accompanied by Legislative Council member and Village Head of Kampong Bukit Sawat Yang Berhormat Mohammad bin Abdullah @ Lim Swee Ann, and Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) representative Mohammad Haazeq bin Arsad attended to oversee the process.

Mukim penghulu and village heads from the Belait District were also present at the event.

The acting Belait District officer, in a speech, highlighted the importance of a village head’s role in maintaining harmony and unity, and to be the government’s eyes and ears on a village level.

The candidate, 34-year-old Mohammad Farid, works as an assistant nurse at the Renal Services Department at the Ministry of Health.

Some 53 individuals cast their votes in favour of Mohammad Farid. No votes were accounted through the E-Undi PMKK e-voting application.

The results will be submitted to the Board of Appointments, Discipline and Procedures for Mukim Penghulu and Village Heads at the MoHA for processing. – Daniel Lim
