Pakistan’s anti-narcotics force seizes over 100kg drugs

ISLAMABAD (XINHUA) – Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted multiple operations in different areas of the country, seizing over 100 kilogrammes (kg) of drugs and arresting three smugglers, the ANF said yesterday.

During the anti-narcotics operations, the ANF seized drugs including heroin, hashish, opium, crystal methamphetamine and others, the ANF said in a statement.

The ANF team conducted operations in various districts of the country’s Balochistan province and seized 65kg of drugs while arresting a smuggler, according to the statement. In the provincial capital city of Quetta, 30kg of hashish concealed in the doors of a vehicle was recovered, the ANF said, adding that around 35kg of narcotics concealed for the purpose of smuggling were seized in Chagai and Kach districts of the province.

In another operation at the Jinnah International Airport Karachi, the ANF recovered 180 grammes of crystal methamphetamine from a parcel booked for Dubai.

Separately, authorities recovered 24.8kg of hashish from the possession of two smugglers on a highway in Karachi, it added.

The ANF said that separate cases have been registered against the accused while further investigations are under process.
