Pakistan’s technology sector achieved a milestone at the recent Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2024 hosted by Brunei through the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications in collaboration with the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) and InfoCom Federation Brunei (IFB).
In a press release, the Pakistan High Commission in Brunei Darussalam said, the showcase of Pakistan’s innovation brought a 20-member delegation led by Muhammad Zohaib Khan, which included innovative companies, start-ups, and academic teams that demonstrated exceptional creativity and technological expertise.
A2Z Creatorz Chief Executive Officer, former chairman of P@SHA, and an APICTA executive committee (Exco) member Muhammad Zohaib Khan served as the head judge of the judging panel while former chairman of P@SHA, also an APICTA Exco member, as advisory judge Dr Shoaib Khan and former chairman of P@SHA as judge Badar Khushnood.
The high commission underscored that winning projects like Adlytic-AI (double award winner) and Augmented Reality-based User Manuals (People’s Choice and Tertiary Students category) reflect Pakistan’s commitment to developing cutting-edge solutions.
Securing 10 awards across multiple categories, the achievement highlights the nation’s growing prominence in the global information and communications technology (ICT) landscape with Covalent Pvt Ltd winning an award in Banking, Insurance and Finance for its product Cheque Mate while Ticket Wala LLP’s Ticket Wala and Adlytic AI (Pvt) Ltd’s
Adlytic AI as first and second runner-ups respectively in the Media and Entertainment, Tourism and Hospitality, and Retail and Distribution.
CureMD Pakistan (PVT) Limited won an award in Health and Inclusions category and in the Tertiary Student Projects: Applications category, NUST, Pakistan won merit and second-runner up and another merit in the Tertiary Student Project: Solutions won by Air University Aerospace and Aviation Campus, Pakistan.
The high commission also took pride in three other awards won by Pakistan – DynaSys Networks for its ALEF in Internet of Things category as well as Adlytic-AI winning an award in Start-up category while Air University Aerospace and Aviation Campus, Pakistan’s Augmented Reality Based Users Manual won an award in the People’s Choice Award. – Lyna Mohamad
