Over 90 Institute of Surveyors, Engineers and Architects (PUJA) Brunei members attended its annual general meeting (AGM) at Betabur Hall at the Ministry of Development on Saturday.
The meeting began with opening remarks by PUJA President Sr Haji Mohammad Hanafi bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Abdul Rahman.
The bi-annual meeting was held where the three divisions of the institution – surveyor, engineer and architect – come together to present reports on the progress and performances of each division, as well as discuss matters, raise motions and address resolutions.
Ir Haji Amer Hishamuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Amar Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Zakaria and Secretary General of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly Ar Siti Rozaimeriyanty binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Abdul Rahman were also present.
The event also saw the dissolution of the 2022/2023 council and the election for the new term’s 2024/2025 council members and the new president of PUJA Brunei by the members.
Sr Haji Mohammad Hanafi was elected as president, Ir Chin Lee Tuck as vice-president of the engineer division, Sr Hajah Hajijah binti Haji Salleh as vice-president of the surveyor division and Ar Haji Amiruddin bin Aziz as vice-president of the architect division.
Meanwhile, Sr Mohammad Syukri bin Haji Zulkipli has been elected as treasurer and Ir Julian Fung has been named secretary general while Ar Haji Mahri bin Latif, Ir Adwan bin Haji Tungkat, Ar Lee Yun San and Ar Zul’ Amali bin Dato Paduka Ar Haji Idris are the general members.
The meeting concluded with remarks from the president.
