    Over 300 take part in fundraising walkathon

    Over 300 people took part in the Palestine fund charity recreation walkathon (RATAP), organised by Wargamas Association at BIBD Connects, Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas yesterday morning.

    Permanent Secretary (Sports) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, the guest of honour, launched the walkathon. He also joined the participants for a 1.2-kilometre walkathon around Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque.

    Wargamas Association President Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Mohd Don said, “RATAP is a charity and recreation event that demonstrates our solidarity with Palestine.”

    He also outlined the objectives of the charity event, which was to support the Humanitarian Fund for Palestinians in Gaza 2023 established by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s Government and managed by the MCYS.

    The event raised BND1,432, adding to the BND2,240 from Wargamas Association was.
