Over 300 descendants of the late Taha bin Sulong and Hamsah Nibong recently attended the first family gathering, dubbed Warisan Purih Taha Sulong, at the Kampong Dato’ Multipurpose Hall, Kuala Lawas, Sarawak, Malaysia.

The ceremony began with the recitation of tahlil and Doa Selamat followed by a speech from Kampong Pemukat Village Head Haji Jofri bin Bakir.

A representative from Purih Napsiah binti Taha Haji Othman bin Haji Aliassan of Brunei Darussalam highlighted the significance of learning about the family tree and interacting with relatives from multiple generations.

He also looked forward to future gatherings, to connect with family members who were unable to attend the event in Kuala Lawas. – Rokiah Mahmud
