Nine Massutera Engineering Sdn Bhd staff members participated in a fire marshal course from November 21 to 23 at the Jerudong Fire Station and Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) headquarters in Berakas organised by the Operation ‘F’ Branch of the FRD.

Participants learnt the importance of theoretical and practical aspects of fire safety and carried out practical ‘in house fire drill’ exercises at the Jerudong Fire Station building and the Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC) building.

They were also taught reasons and causes of fires, knowing the action to take when facing a fire at work by systematically training the evacuation of the building, procedures for using fire extinguishers and fire blankets in the right way and procedures to save oneself from being trapped in the building in the event of a fire.

Participants also visited the Fire Investigation Unit and Berakas Fire Station.

Meanwhile, 23 officers and staff from the Municipal Department took part in a fire marshal course from November 21 to 23 organised by the Operation ‘A’ Branch of the FRD where they were exposed to the importance of theoretical and practical fire safety.
