Some 229 male recruits of the 172nd intake and 54 female recruits of the 58th intake concluded their basic military training with a passing out parade ceremony at the Parade Square of Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces (TI RBAF), Penanjong Garrison yesterday.
Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, the guest of honour, inspected the parade. He also delivered a speech and presented awards to the recruits and instructors who demonstrated outstanding performance in various categories throughout the training.
The award recipients for the 172nd male intake were 55367 Recruit Mohammad Nazirul Hazwandi bin Mohammad Fazrie as the Overall Best Recruit, 55438 Recruit Mohammad Iekkal @ Mohamad Iqbal bin Omar Ali for the Best in Military Skills, 55546 Recruit (U) Mohammad Elwin Shaqirulriffin bin Mohamad Saiful Ehsan for Best in Light Weapon Training and 55419 Recruit Muhammad Khairul Azmi bin Azlan for the Best in Physical Training. In addition, 16893 Corporal Sarinan bin Haji Budin received the Best Section Commander Award, while 19413 Sergeant Mohammad Shahlani bin Haji Zailani was awarded the Best Platoon Sergeant Award.
Meanwhile, the award recipients for the 58th female intake were 22321 Recruit Nurul Amalina Anizah binti Jubahri as the Overall Best Recruit, 22331 Recruit (U) Nur Amaliyana Sya’irah binti Abdul Latif for the Best in Military Skills, 22310 Recruit Nor Siti Syahidah binti Haji Yusdi for Best in Light Weapon Training and 22306 Recruit Nurul Sahirah binti Roslan for the Best in Physical Training. In addition, 21527 Corporal (U) Siti Noorfaridah binti Safar received the Best Section Commander Award, while 21452 Petty Officer Zaahidah binti Zainal @ Elsa Sulastry, RBN was awarded the Best Platoon Sergeant Award.
Acting Deputy Services Commanders, Acting Deputy Joint Force Commander, senior officers, officers and personnel from the Ministry of Defence as well as the recruits’ families also attended. – Adib Noor
