Some 1,012 children aged 12 to 17 had received the COVID-19 booster doses since the vaccination programme for the age group commenced on April 16, said Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar at the daily press conference yesterday.
Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham added that the booster dose vaccination rate for the age group is moving at a slow pace due to some sitting for examinations. Those recently infected with COVID-19 are required to wait for six weeks before getting the booster dose.
