Over 140 Year 7 students of Chung Hwa Middle School attended a briefing by the Information Department at the Prime Minister’s Office, through the State Unit, Strategic Communications Division, on the monarch, the national flag and the national anthem of the Sultanate at the school’s hall yesterday.
Acting Head of the Strategic Communications Division and Head of the Public Relations Unit at the Information Department Pengiran Haji Ahmad Fadillah Akhbar bin Pengiran Haji Sellahhuddin delivered the talk which also touched on the history and procedure of hoisting the national flag and the history of the national anthem.
Students also watched videos on ‘Semarak Pengibaran Bendera’ and ‘Procedure for Raising the National Flag’ and participated in a quiz.
Principal Kho Guik Lan attended the briefing along with the school’s teaching staff.
The programme is an ongoing effort by the department in instilling love for the monarch, religion and country. It aims to strengthen the spirit of solidarity and patriotism in the students. – Azlan Othman
