The number of active COVID-19 cases in Brunei Darussalam has reached 11,731, after 2,988 new cases were detected yesterday.
The latest cases were detected from 1,711 RT-PCR tests and 1,277 ART, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 30,587, the Ministry of Health (MoH) said in a statement yesterday.
One COVID-19 related death was also reported yesterday, bringing the total number of fatalities to 61. The case had been vaccinated with two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. The accumulated number of fatalities including non COVID-related since March 2020 has reached 108.
Four cases are under Category 4 requiring oxygen assistance, while three cases are in Category 5, requiring artificial ventilation assistance at the intensive care unit.
A total of 228 cases recovered, bringing a total of 18,748 recoveries, while bed occupancy rate at isolation centres nationwide is at 10.6 per cent.
As of February 17, 94.9 per cent of the total population had received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 94.2 per cent had received two doses. A total of 49.9 per cent of the population had received the booster shot.
Meanwhile, no violations were found during the movement restrictions from midnight until 4am yesterday.
