Over 10,000 meals were delivered in the past seven days to individuals self-isolating or under a Quarantine Order by the National Coordination Centre for COVID-19 in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and youth volunteers, said Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar in a press conference yesterday.
The minister said food deliveries were made to 2,425 homes for 10,535 individuals who were either undergoing self-isolation at home after testing positive or primary close contacts undergoing a Quarantine Order.
Meanwhile, 925 new COVID-19 cases comprising 924 local and one imported were detected in the last 24 hours, bringing the national tally of confirmed cases to 25,584.
The minister said there were 424 recoveries yesterday, bringing the total number of active cases to 7,512.
Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham said four COVID-19 cases are in Catergory 4 (requiring oxygen assistance and under close monitoring). Three of the four cases had completed two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and one case had recently received one dose.
Two cases are in Category 5, requiring artificial ventilation Intensive Care Unit treatment.
The bed occupancy rate in isolation centres nationwide is 15.4 per cent where 364 active cases are placed in isolation centres while 7,147 cases are undergoing home self-isolation.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health (MoH) is monitoring 109 active clusters. No clusters involving businesses or public places have been detected as of yesterday.
As of Tuesday, 48.1 per cent of the population have received three doses under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Programme, while 94 per cent have received one dose and two doses.
Also in attendance at the press conference was Permanent Secretary at the MoH Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin.
